Noun
għoxx m (plural għoxux or għoxxijiet, diminutive għexejjex)
Etymology 2
Without doubt influenced by etymology 1 through evident analogies of both appearance and function, but originally perhaps from Arabic عُسّ (ʕuss), meaning “genitals” (especially male, but also female) as well as “large cup” (if this is the same word). Compare the obsolete Maltese variant għoss (“buttocks, anus”).
