From Proto-Sino-Tibetan *gaːr ~ *ga (to dance; to sing; to leap; to stride). Cognate with Burmese က (ka., dance), Tibetan གར (gar, dance), Old Chinese (OC *kaːl), Situ ta-rga (dance) and Jingpho ka (dance). Compare with Lhao Vo go: , Zaiwa go and Hpon gà’.
