Inherited from Aramaic אַרְבַּעֵסְרֶא (arəbaʿesrē), By surface analysis, ܐܲܪܒܲܥ (arbaˁ, “four”) + ܥܸܣܲܪ (ˁissar, “ten”); compare Arabic أَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ (ʔarbaʕa ʕašrata) and Hebrew אַרְבַּע עֶשְׂרֵה (arbá' 'esré).
