Neologism from the construct form of ܦܪܵܣܵܐ (prāsā, extension) +‎ ܢܲܘܠܵܐ (nawlā, web), originally published in a 2006 dictionary/phrasebook by Nicholas Awde, Nineb Lamassu, and Nicholas Al-Jeloo as a substitute for the more common Anglicism ܐܸܢܛܲܪܢܹܛ (inṭarnēṭ), and later by Bailis Yamlikha Shamun in a 2020 dictionary.
