According to MED, a reduplicative compound of ရှူး (hru:) +‎ ဒိုင်း (duing:, “principal rafter”), with the first component invoking either the "taper" or "hiss" senses (the latter seems more likely). It is possible that the entire formation is of sound-symbolic origin, however.
