Usage notes

拘提 (jūtí) refers to the arrest (with warrant) of criminal suspects and witnesses who failed to attend court on summons. In cases prescribed in Article 88-1 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, it can be performed without warrant (subject to retroactive prosecutorial approval), equivalent to 緊急逮捕 (kinkyū taiho) in Japanese law.
