Etymology
Borrowed from Manchu ᠴᠠᠩᡤᡳ (canggi), from Written Oirat ᡔᠠᡊᡎᡅ (canggi).
Also possibly the same city as the one named 彰八里 (Zhāngbālǐ) in the History of Yuan [14th c. CE], and جَنْبَلِقْ (janbaliq) in Dīwān Lughāt al-Turk [11th c. CE]. The second component of that name was evidently related to Old Turkic 𐰉𐰞𐰶 (balïq, “town, city”).
