Etymology
Literally “chanting the daimoku (title) in the morning, and Buddhist prayers in the evening.”
Chanting the daimoku is a specialty of the Nichiren school of Buddhism, while the evening prayers is a specialty of other Buddhist sects, such as 浄土宗 (Jōdo-shū, literally “Pure Land school”).
