First attested in the Worin seokbo (月印釋譜 / 월인석보), 1459, as Middle Korean 더품 (Yale: tephwum). Also attested in the Gugeupbang eonhae (救急方諺解 / 구급방언해), 1466, as Middle Korean 거품 (Yale: kephwum).
