Etymology
First attested in the Magyeong chojip eonhae (馬經抄集諺解 / 마경초집언해), 16th century, as Early Modern Korean 눈초리 (Yale: nwun-chwoli), from 눈 (nun, “eye”) + -초리 (-chori, “tapering end, tip”).
