Etymology 2
First attested in 2000, as a contraction of 라진-선봉 (Rajin-Sŏnbong), a combination of 라진 (羅津, Rajin) and 선봉 (先鋒, Sŏnbong), formerly a city and a county prior to being merged into present-day Rasŏn Special City.
