π°π»π°π±π°π»ππππ°πΏπ½
Gothic
Etymology
Borrowed from Ancient Greek αΌΞ»Ξ¬Ξ²Ξ±ΟΟΟΞΏΞ½ (alΓ‘bastron); this attested spelling with apparently superfluous -l- may well be a scribal error for *alabastraun, which would be closer to the Greek original. Compare also Latin alabastrum, alabaster.
Noun
π°π»π°π±π°π»ππππ°πΏπ½ β’ (alabalstraun) n
- (hapax legomenon) A type of alabastron; that is, a small container, perhaps a flask, phial or box, especially one containing ointments
