Inherited from Proto-Common Turkic *kǖč (“power”). Cognate with Khalaj kü̂ç, Turkish güç, Uzbek kuch, Bashkir көс (kös), Yakut күүс (küüs). Compare also Mongolian хүч (xüč), a Turkic borrowing.
