From Avestan π¬€π¬’π¬­π¬€βΈ±π¬¨π¬€π¬Œπ¬₯𐬌𐬌𐬎 (aΕ‹ra.mainiiu), from 𐬀𐬒𐬭𐬀 (aΕ‹ra, β€œevil”) + π¬¨π¬€π¬Œπ¬₯𐬌𐬌𐬎 (mainiiu, β€œspirit”). Doublet of Ahriman.
