    • 1980, AA Book of British Villages, Drive Publications Ltd, page 369, about Swaffham Bulbeck:
Although the waterway and quay are no longer used by commercial traffic, the port area - Commercial End, off the main road - retains much of its original character. The Dutch-style Merchant's House, the granary and the malt house are still standing, and the old stevedores' cottages are now private homes.
