Etymology
Within Kra-Dai, compare Sui qngal (“sesame”), Proto-Hlai *hŋɯː (“sesame”). Compare also Proto-Malayo-Polynesian *leŋa (“sesame”) (whence Tagalog linga) and Proto-Mon-Khmer *lŋaaʔ ~ *lŋawʔ (“sesame”).
