Etymology
From + *-me + *-lig (see more at Turkish -meli). However, the existence of the Chuvash cognate, may precede the Turkish derivation from -me + -li.[1]
Suffix
*-melig
- Suffix creating necessitative.
- *seb- (“to love”) + *-melig → *sebmelig (“(s/he) should love”)
