Etymology

From Czech Táborita. Equivalent to Tabor +‎ -ite, after Tábor, a hill or fortress where they encamped during the Hussite Wars, later a town. See also Czech tábor.

  1. (Christianity, historical) A radical Hussite; an adherent of radical Hussitism at the time of the Bohemian Reformation, who rejected the unique authority of the Catholic Church in matters of faith and was considered heretical.
