Noun
gigantisms m (1st declension)
- gigantism (excessive growth of an individual's body or body part, usually due to excessive production of growth hormones)
- ja cilvēka augums pārsniedz 2 metrus, runā par gigantismu ― if a person's height excedes 2 meters, one speaks of gigantism
- ja piedzimst bērns, kura hipofīze producē pārāk daudz hormona, tad izveidojas tā sauktais gigantisms... tāds bērns izaug 2 līdz 2,5 m garumam, saglabājot ķermeņa proporcionalitāti ― if a child is born whose pituitary gland produces too much hormone, then occurs the so-called gigantism... such a child grows up to 2 to 2.5m, conserving body proportions
