jetë

Albanian

Etymology 1

From Proto-Albanian *eta, related to the isolated group (substrate) of Greek ἐτεός (eteós, true, real), ἐτάζω (etázō, to test).[1] Related to the participial form of jam and to eshë (period of time, span, space). (Can this(+) etymology be sourced?) See also Latin aetas (whence Aromanian etã), considered by some to be the source of the Albanian word,[2] but this is uncertain.
