Etymology
From kata (“we (dual)”) + -mu (“you (singular)”).. Compare Tagalog tayo (ta + -yo), Ilocano datayo (data + -yo), Pangasinan sikatayo (sikata + yo), and Tausug taniyu (ta + niyu).
Pronoun
katamu
- Second-person dual absolutive independent pronoun; we (two) and at least one other person; us (two) and at least one other person; you and I and at least one other person; you and me and at least one other person.
Usage notes
- The word katamu usually replaces ikatamu when in the middle of a sentence.
