Borrowed from Javanese ꦏꦼꦚ꧀ꦕꦼꦁ (kenceng, tight; straight, direct; strong), ꦏꦼꦚ꧀ꦕꦁ (kencang, to stretch and tie), from Malay kencang, from Proto-Mon-Khmer *kcəŋ (stretched, to stretch).[1]
