leathchuma
Irish
Alternative forms
- leath-chuma, leathchumaidh, leath-chumaidh[1]
Etymology
The forms leathchuma and leathchumaidh are equally old, making it unclear whether the compound was originally thought of as leath- (“one-sided, partial”) + cuma (“shape, form”) or leath- + cumaidh (“companionship”).[2]
