Etymology

Compound of maple +‎ MAGA. Sometimes expressed as maple syrup MAGA.[1] The maple leaf is a symbol of Canada; maple syrup is a stereotypical Canadian product. The acronym MAGA, for "Make American Great Again", is associated with Donald Trump and his political supporters.
