     Suppose ${\displaystyle \Gamma }$ is an arithmetic group defined over a global field ${\displaystyle K}$, that the ${\displaystyle K}$-type of ${\displaystyle \Gamma }$ is ${\displaystyle A_{n}}$ with ${\displaystyle n\geq 2}$, and that the ambient semisimple group that contains ${\displaystyle \Gamma }$ as a lattice has at least two noncocompact factors.
