From pang- +‎ layar. Named after its sail-like shape akin to a proa, also the final /r/ voice at the end of layar.

1. matchmaker (someone who finds suitable love partners for other people.)
2. (linguistics, in Sundanese script) A diacritic ⟨◌ ᮁ⟩ signifying the addition of the final /r/ sound at the end of a letter.
