stakebody (plural stakebodies)

  1. A type of truck body or wagon body composed of stakes, often easily removable from the bed, such that a flatbed can be reconverted as needed; suitable for certain kinds of loads, especially in nonhighway use, such as bales, bundles, sacks, barrels, or boxes.
  2. (metonymic) A truck, trailer, or wagon with such a body.
