Etymology 1
From Proto-Albanian *awa-derna (“to go away”), from Proto-Indo-European *drem- (“to run”). Cognate to (aorist) Ancient Greek ἔδραμον (édramon, “to run away”), Sanskrit द्राति (drāti, “to run, to hasten”).[1] Alternatively from v- + djerr.
