   liela, līka, sirma vecene patlaban trieca Bites lopus laukā no Brīviņu pļavas ― a big, curved, gray-haired old woman has just chased Bite's cattle from the Briviņi meadows to the field

2. (colloquial) wife

   tik tīrīga sievišķa kā mana vecene tu tāpat neatradīsi ― so neat and feminine (a woman) as my wife you just will not find
