vidh
Albanian
Etymology
From Proto-Albanian *wīdza, from Proto-Indo-European *winǵos (compare Lithuanian vi̇̀nkšna, Polish wiąz), variant of *wiǵo (compare English wych elm, Northern Kurdish bizî). Alternatively from Proto-Indo-European *widʰu-, in which case it could be linked with Old Dutch widu, Old Norse viðr (Danish and Swedish ved).
