Access values are used to describe the legal access for various facilities.

This tag applies to objects for which usage (with vehicles) is explicitly restricted to vehicles that are used at that moment for agricultural purposes only, not limited to the technical class of agricultural motor vehicles; e.g. tractors ( agricultural=*) .

Note that access= applies also to pedestrians unless overridden with foot=yes - in a typical case using vehicle=agricultural or motor_vehicle=agricultural is far more likely to be correct. If cyclists are allowed in general bicycle=yes may be also needed.

Examples

In both cases driving a motorcar for professional tending of beehives is allowed, but driving an agricultural tractor for the transport of building materials between villages is not. [1]

Possible tagging mistakes

not agricultural=yes or access= but access=private

Note a closed farmer's access track would be access=private rather than access= unless the track is explicitly open to any vehicle used for agricultural purposes, e.g in a sign such as.

In the other case of a typical farmer's track with access=private, the owner is free allow access to anyone with any vehicle and any purpose and to refuse access to other users with agricultural vehicles and/or purposes at will (unless specific arrangements are in order).

This Dutch sign refers to the technical class of agricultural tractors[2] and not to the purpose of current usage; therefore it should be tagged agricultural=designated (together with additional tags for other road users) instead of access=
