A
tower viewer (also known as a pair of binoculars, spyglass) is a small telescope fixed in place with a pole. It can typically be found on touristic locations, viewpoints, on top of panoramic towers or occasionally on a nature reserve (e.g. in a leisure=bird_hide). Despite the tagging as binoculars, there is no requirement to have two oculars to use this tag. A single ocular at the location also qualifies to use this tag.
Often, but not always, a coin is demanded as fee=*.
How to map
Tags used in combination
fee=*– to indicate that a small fee has to be paidcharge=*– to indicate the exact amount of chargedirection=*– to indicate the direction the spyglass looks to. Use a single number if the spyglass is fixed, or a range if the spyglass can move between two directions (e.g.45-90if the spyglass can move between northeast and east). Use0-360if the spyglass can rotate everywhere.
