generator:source= is being used for individual/collection of battery packs connected to a local or national grid. Battery storage is sometimes used by facilities that have high peak demands (e.g. electric vehicle charging hubs) or by grid/ power generator operators to smooth out demand curves or store energy from an intermittent electricity source (e.g. wind farms or solar farms).

For dedicated storage facilities, use power=plant and plant:source=battery.

Battery storage have both a peak power output, usually in kilowatts (kW), and an energy storage capacity, usually in megawatt-hours or kilowatt-hours (MWh/kWh). The output should be recorded in the generator:output=* tag, and the storage capacity in the generator:storage=* tag.
