A minefield is an area in which may have active or possibly active mines from past or present military conflicts. This tag can be used with military=danger_area.

How to map

  • Tag an area area with boundary=hazard + hazard= to indicate the area of a minefield in which the precise location of each mine is not known.
  • If the mines are laid in a known linear pattern, this may be modeled as one or more way.
  • If the area is also coterminous with a military area, it should also be tagged landuse=military + military=danger_area.
