  • May 8: At 10 AM GMT, Japan closes its borders to protect itself against "the growing epidemic of worldwide terrorism." Trade is to continue as normal, as will diplomatic overtures via the United Nations.[1][2]

September

  • The Seraphim form under the nova Uriel, who believes himself to be the actual angel.[3]

December

  • December 31: Japan Radio stops transmitting the Quarantine Broadcast, although Japan's borders remain closed.[1]
