Events

  • Death and martyrdom of Hypatia, Neoplatonist magus and mathematician. Killed with clamshell blades by a mob led by Cyril, a Christian patriarch. The mob then burns her residence and library; Hermetic followers rescue some scrolls to Horizon's library[3], but the majority of the archive is destroyed, further purging records of Thothmes II, the Reed of Thoth and the Cupbearers of Isis.[4] Hypatia's essence goes on to work in the Mouseion.[5]
