  • August 24: A battle between the methuselahs Helena and Menele awaken a spirit of fire in Mt. Vesuvius, leading to its eruption. The resulting explosion destroys the cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum.
    • Remarkably, both Helena and Melene survive the eruption.
