Anaxagoras
Anaxagoras was a Thyrsus Mahanizrayani who acted as an advisor to Alexander the Great.
Overview
Enamored of the power he had over the Greeks via his relationship with Alexander, Anaxagoras feared said power would wane following his leader's death. As such, when Alexander was dying, he intended to use magic to heal him. Thus, Anaxagoras stood in opposition to the other advisors, the Moros Theophanes and Mastigos Kleitos, the former of whom was mostly interested in investigating the cause of said death and the latter of whom sought to use the death to take over the empire.
Among the possible explanations for Alexander's death, one put forth by the sourcebook is an unexpected illness. In this scenario, Kleitos and Anaxagoras each independently decided to act at, more or less, the same time. As such, Alexander seemed to miraculously recover for a short time from his sickness before expiring. Anaxagoras, aware of Kleitos's likely actions, challenged him to a duel, the result of which was the death of the Thyrsus and faked death of the Mastigos.
Should the cause have been poison, both Anaxagoras and Theophanes left Alexander's body to seek out Kleitos, whom they suspected of poisoning the emperor, eventually finding and confronting him.
