Theophanes
Theophanes was a Moros Phulakeion who acted as one of Alexander the Great's three Sorcerer advisors.
Overview
A cautious man at heart, Theophanes advised investigation into Alexander's death without drastic action, in stark contrast to the Thyrsus Anaxagoras, who wished to cure the emperor with magic, and the Mastigos Kleitos, who told the other two to leave the emperor to his care, intending secretly to usurp rulership.
The sourcebook provides several possible causes and resolutions to Alexander's death. Should the death have been a plot by the Mantra Sadhaki, Theophanes helped defend Babylon from both the Mantrikis and the Tyrannoi who descended upon the city.
If Alexander was done in by unexpected illness, Theophanes went into seclusion after the duel in which Kleitos killed Anaxagoras and faked his own death.
Assuming it was poison that doomed the emperor, Theophanes and Anaxagoras became suspicious of Kleitos, who had begun to act erratically. The Mastigos fled into the city, with both of his fellow advisors in hot pursuit. Though the two found Kleitos, the fate of the three following their confrontation remains unknown.
