Book of Aeon
A sorcerer Grimoire that serves as the main text of instruction used by the sorcerers of the Ancient Order of the Aeon Rites.
The Book
The book itself was composed by Johannes Agrippa sometime after his founding of the Ancient Order of the Aeon Rites (AOAR) in 1873. It was written with the guidance of the mysterious Secret Watchers who helped Johannes to write the entire text down in Enochian. This original copy is heavily protected and warded within the AOAR's headquarters and only consulted by the order's highest degree magisters. Copious copies of the text are made however, and every member of the order owns a copy and is expected to make use of it during their magical workings. Despite the original text being written in Enochian, the copies are translated in multiple languages, but as members rise higher within the order and their magical knowledge and skill increases, they are expected to master Enochian and eventually to use only it when they perform their magic.
While the AOAR is a very studious organization and has texts on all forms of esoteric and occult lore, the Book of Aeon is held in the highest regard because the order believes that all other texts of magic and occult lore contain scraps of the Aeon Rites and that the Book itself contains the idealized rituals that allows the use of pure magic. The book also is a comprehensive text that contains not only magic but also metaphysical and cosmological lore and is meant to be the sum of all magical and occult lore. The book uses an ample amount of Pythagorean symbols, numerology, and astrology when explaining its magic and it is believed that all rituals and paths of magic can be used by merely studying the book.
