Conviction (DTR)

Conviction is a Deviant's drive to seek revenge and punish enemies. Conviction is represented by Touchstones and is the counterpart of Loyalty.

Conviction Touchstones are sources of hatred for a Deviant. A Deviant seeks to destroy her Conviction Touchstones, but doing so never satisfies for long. Another enemy in the Web of Pain inevitably appears to take the place of a destroyed Touchstone. For Renegades, Conviction Touchstones are often the agents and facilities of the conspiracies that created or imprisoned them. For Devoted, Conviction Touchstones are targets given to them by the conspiracy.

Renegades start with more Conviction than Loyalty, but benefit somewhat less from pursuing Conviction Touchstones. Devoted are the opposite, starting with less Conviction but benefitting from it more. A Devoted whose Conviction surpasses Loyalty enters a state of Fury and becomes a Nemesis.
