Loyalty
Loyalty is a Deviant's drive to protect and support others. Loyalty is represented by Touchstones and is the counterpart of Conviction.
Loyalty Touchstones are sources of comfort for a Renegade, but they are also sources of concern. Conspiracies can often root out and target a Deviant's loyalty Touchstones, taking them hostage or turning them against the Remade. For Devoted, a Loyalty Touchstone might represent the conspiracy that controls it.
Renegades start with less Loyalty than Conviction, but benefit more from supporting Loyalty Touchstones. Devoted are the opposite, starting with more Loyalty and gaining fewer benefits from it. A Renegade whose Loyalty exceeds Conviction enters a state of Catharsis and becomes a Guardian.
