  • An unknown man gets dumped unceremoniously in a Midtown park a few minutes before sunrise this morning. The man is bound and gagged. When onlookers come closer to help the man, he screams incoherently. As the sun rises, the man bursts into flame. The flames consume him quickly, reportedly leaving only a pile of ash no more than a minute afterwards.^[3]

Malaaca claims that security at Yamata Micro-Electronics is air-tight; they use dedicated computer systems to keep out electrokinetic intrusion, and have some sort of anti-clairsentience protocols. They assume this means Yamata has something to hide, and they need someone to get inside. "That's why we've come to you."^[6]
