Eschatologists

The Eschatologists were an Inquisitor sect active in Constantinople in the mid-1400s.[1]

Considered conspiracy theorists by their fellows, the Eschatologists believed that the God-Machine's flight from the city after Mehmed's siege was for the purpose of escaping some terrible future catastrophe.[1] Many of this faction spent their time either looking for prophetic information or preparing boltholes for said disaster.[1] In particular, they were intrigued by information about the Golden Gate and those, like Argent, who were connected to it.[2]

The number of Eschatologists within Constantinople swelled in the wake of the terrible earthquake of 1509, during which hunter Angels rapidly descended upon the Unchained of the city before fleeing.[3]
