Giselle

Giselle is a mortal Traditionalist mage. When Invidia Caul stole her witchcraft, Giselle attempted to kill her in retaliation. Instead, Caul managed to capture and Blood bind the witch. Now Giselle has no choice but to reside in Kiowa Xenogenetics, where the Tremere uses her for Blood Sorcery rituals and experiments.

Overview

The Courier will meet Giselle during the Kiowa run. At the party, they will take note of the strange redhead in a green cardigan and almost immediately recognize her as a witch. If the Courier chooses to talk to Giselle and successfully pass required [INT + Academics] check, they will immediately identify the Blood bond she's under, and then Vani will approach them and warn the Courier about the witch.

Next time the Courier encounters Giselle during Dr. Caul acidic outburst, when she barges in to Tremere's "rescue". Invidia then sends Giselle away to deal with the mess.

And the third, last time the Courier meets Giselle when the witch comes to the guest quarters the Courier is currently occupying, tells them that Invidia wants to see them, and shows the Courier to the "Snow Room". Then she leaves Dr. Caul and the Courier to negociate.

The only way to meet Giselle after the KXG run is to make Vani Anand the Courier's ghoul. If Vani survived the KXG and the Courier has no retainer yet, Vani would establish a small lab in Tucson. She will offer herself for the role of the Courier's retainer, but in return the Courier has to help Vani to get rid of Giselle, who started stalking after Vani some time after the KXG run.

Trivia

  • If the Courier agrees to help Dr. Caul fake her death and then demand garnet ring as a payment, Invidia will mention that she and Giselle're already working on the new, more potent version (and that its creation would probably kill Giselle).
  • It seems that, even though she was driven mad by the Blood bond, Giselle, being a mage, still possesses an ironclad willpower: she can command beasts and warp time and space. Still, she has her weaknesses: ideological hostility, inconsistencies within her own belief system, even an incompatible environment seem to dampen her powers. (Or, as Vani simply put it, "Witches don't belong in laboratories.")
