Handura

The Handura were one of the Indian death cults who eventually gave rise to the Euthanatoi.

History

The Handura and other cults arose circa 1000 BCE, as the spread of Hinduism lead to the stigmatization of contact with the dead. The Handura were initially one of many outcast cults who preserved older traditions of relating to death and the Great Cycle.^[1] These cults united against a common enemy during the Himalayan Wars, eventually giving rise to the modern tradition.^[2]

The Handura are specifically cited as the cult that was pursuing the Warring Hands on the Night of Fana, when the Ahl-i-Batin first received the Doctrine of Unity.^[2]
