Item:Bubble Bum

Bubble Bum is an item used in VTM: Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines as part of the Daydream Believer quest. It doesn't appear in the game normally, but was restored for the Plus version of the Unofficial Patch. It's found in the arcade on the Santa Monica Pier, between Rampage and BloodQuest machines.

Just an ordinary pack of chewing gum.

Background Information

• Restored in v4.0 of the Unofficial Patch, released August 17, 2007.
• The "Bubble Bum" logo is a modified Bubble Yum logo, a brand of bubble gum sold by the Hershey Company.
• Bloodlines has a limit on number of objects, so anytime anything is added, it has to replace an existing object. Bloodlines shipped with item_g_chewinggum, which was unused in the final product. The Plus patch restored the object, but to keep it within the object limit, it replaced item_w_mingxiao_tentacle, which was itself just a duplicate an existing Ming Xiao "weapon" attack.
• Since this item wasn't used in the original game, the original file description re-uses the Cash Box description: "Gallery Noir's Charity Money." A description was added in the Plus patch once the item became usable.
