Joanna Smythe

Joanna Smythe was a changeling activist living in London during Victorian times.

Overview

An activist both in and out of Lost society, Smythe is known to have inspired several reform movements, including women’s suffrage and charities for various underprivileged groups. She was, however, also involved with some unsavory characters, including a sexual relationship with a Fairest supremacist by the name of Elijah Mansfield. This connection would lead to her untimely death at the hands of the Anti-Gentrification League, who broke into his house while the two were together and murdered them both.

The Muse's death would be the catalyst for the AGL's eventual fall, as, despite her associations, Smythe was seen as a force for good in the city, and her murder turned public opinion against the Entitlement.
