  • Mt. Etna, located on the east coast of Sicily, erupts without leaving a trace of residue. Weather satellites and citizens with cameras record a plume of ash sprouting from the vent of the volcano throughout the day, however the expected rain of ash does not materialize, and the Italian National Geological Council reports none of the accompanying tremors typical of an eruption.^[1]
