King Semyonov

King Semyonov is the ultimate perversion of the long-extinct Grondr: a Skull Pig born with the ability to change form. The self-styled monarch leads a sounder of fellow Skull Pigs on a rampage across the US southeast, having allied themselves with the Pentex subsidiary Circinus Brands.

Biography

While the wereboars themselves were wiped out during the War of Rage, their remaining Kinfolk degenerated into the Wyrm-tainted creatures known today as Skull Pigs. However, once in a fat blue moon, one of these corrupted creatures is born with the ability to shapeshift like their Fera ancestors once did. King Semyonov originally came into being as a wild boar but after unearthing and consuming the remains of several Croatan werewolves in an abandoned Virginian caern, evolved into something much worse. Believing he had been blessed by the vanished Totem of Turtle, Semyonov gained the grisly ability to step sideways into the Umbra through pools of eviscerated gore. Declaring himself "King of the Skull Pigs" and claiming the Sharp Top Caern as his throne, Semyonov embarked on a campaign of terror against the Garou of the Sept of Memories, ambushing and killing several of their members.

King Semyonov recently formed an alliance with Miriam Fink-Chandleton, CEO of the Circinus Brands and fellow (if unwitting) servant of the Wyrm. Ever-ambitious, Semyonov wishes to use Circinus as a stepping stool to form more Pentex contacts, hoping to one day usurp control of the tobacco company from Fink-Chandleton and install himself and other Skull Pigs within the corporate hierarchy.

Appearance

Semyonov is a unique beast in that he's fully capable of assuming five different forms like any other Changing Breed, including a truly monstrous Crinos war-form: a bulbous, heavily-muscled man-boar with a skinless porcine skull for a head. In his Homid guise he resembles a tall, bald, mustached man of dark skin, broad shoulders, and a round belly. He tends to wear expensive clothing (as befits a king), though it’s always dirty, bloodstained, and torn in places. Notably, the skin on Semyonov's human face looks unnaturally thin, stretched tightly over a skull bearing many small bumps and lesions. His Scrofa form (the form of his birth) is ironically the most innocuous, as he appears to be a fairly archetypical Skull Pig - though admittedly one the size of a bull.

Trivia

  • Semyonov dubbed himself after Grigory Semyonov - a Cossack warlord and general of the Imperial Russian Army.
  • King Semyonov is one of the major antagonists of the W20 Chronicle Those Things'll Kill You. It's left up to the Storyteller's discretion whether he is actually a remnant of the ancient Grondr or simply a new type of Wyrmish abomination.
